The TRIO Educational Opportunity Centers program provides free career counseling, information on college admissions, and financial literacy to qualified adults in Missouri and Illinois who want to enter or continue a program of postsecondary education.

PROGRAM SERVICES
Our Educational Opportunity Centers program is designed to assist individuals in returning to education at any step. We focus guiding you at any level from General Education Development (GED) to college or technical school. Our services include:
Academic coaching

school and program/degree selection assistance based on career goals

college and university applications

advice and assistance in course selection
-
prep for college entrance exams
Financial coaching

financial aid applications
-
student loan repayment selections advice
-
financial and economic literacy
Career coaching

career workshops
-
personalized career and educational pathway counseling
Other services

secondary school entry or reentry to GED or equivalent programs for dropouts

tutoring services
-
mentoring program facilitation with teachers, higher education faculty, or students
PLEASE NOTE: The TRIO Educational Opportunity Programs does not provide any funding to individuals.
PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY
We want to help you reach your educational goals. These eligibility guidelines help us identify those most at need.
A participant must be:
-
United States citizen or permanent resident
-
at least 19 years old OR under 19 years old and not served by a TRIO Talent Search program
-
committed to succeeding in continuing education
-
live in one of the following counties: St. Louis, St. Louis County, Madison County, St. Clair County, Clinton County
Additionally, participants must identify with one of the following:
-
first-generation college student
-
considered low income by federal guidelines
-
a veteran
